Eva Longoria has injured her foot after dancing around the Desperate Housewives set.

The 36-year-old star plays feisty Gabrielle Solis in the popular US TV show. The cast and crew are currently shooting episodes for the final season. Eva is clearly making the most of her last weeks on the show and admits she was having so much fun she has hurt herself.

"Resting on set putting ice on my foot, hurt it dancing on set! (sic)" Eva posted on her Twitter account on Monday.

It is not yet known if Eva was shooting a scene when the injury occurred, or just joking around her with her co-stars.

The tweet was accompanied by a photo of Eva sitting in a make-up chair with her eyes closed as she elevated her sore limb.

Eva's Twitter followers have been closely following the final season of Desperate Housewives.

In an episode broadcast in the US recently, one of the characters was killed off.

Fans of the series have been left shaken by the unexpected departure, and Eva admits she is still reeling from the controversial storyline.

Eva's performance in the show has also attracted a great deal of praise.
