(Cover) - EN Star Style - Evan Rachel Wood says red carpet events are an "excuse to be fancy".

The 23-year-old American actress is famed for her glamorous appearance and dramatic style. The beauty says that she loves prestigious film events because it gives her a chance to go over-board in the glamour stakes.

"High glamour is in the details. My favourite red carpet look in couture, which is why I love the Oscars and the Golden Globes it's an excuse to be fancy," she explained in an interview with Glamour magazine. "Low-cut pieces, like this Elie Saab dress, work for me and still look classy."

Evan advises that budding fashionistas experiment with their wardrobes. The star has revealed she likes to wear a combination of more relaxed styles and vintage pieces.

"Mix things up. I used to love wearing 30s and 40s clothes. Recently, I've become more tomboyish," she said.

Evan says the perfect way to update your look is to experiment with hair colour. The stunning star often sports tresses with varying hues, and knows which make-up looks suit each hair shade.

"Update your look with hair dye. I change my colour a lot. When I'm dark, I go heavy on the eyes with lots of black; when I'm blonde, I use gentle browns. With red, you can get away with anything," she advised. (C) Cover Media
