VJ turned actor Ayushamann is super excited for his debut film 'Vicky Donor' where he plays the unconventional role of a sperm donor. Ayushmann, who has a theatre background, has been consistently working on television as a Video Jockey, a stand up artist, as well as a successful anchor for the past few years. Not many television stars are successful in taking the plunge, but Ayushmann exclaimed that he is quite confident of his performance in the film industry.
"A performer can perform anywhere. I've always been happy as an anchor. If you look at the number of anchors in this country, you might get four. But there are so many actors. I was secure in my position and not desperate to do films", cleared Ayushmaan.
Adding to his gut feeling, Ayushmann said, "By god's grace I have not been typecast in any slot. I haven't done any saas-bahu dramas. I know there are a lot of VJs who have done movies and haven't done well. I am however, optimistic".
He further stated that films are a lot harder than television shows, "You can fool around on TV, do mimicry, but with films, one has to be very careful. It is serious business. I don't have a godfather in the film industry nor am I a star kid", concluded the optimistic star.
