September 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Mollywood is gearing up for a sports movie titled 'Football Fiends'. Veteran script writer Dennis Joseph, who penned down the scripts for the movies like 'Nirakkoottu', 'New Delhi' and 'Manu Uncle', has written the script for this movie as well.
The movie revolves around the story of a local football team. Malayalam actors like Mukesh and Kalabhavan Mani will be seen playing important roles in 'Football Fiends'. Other important roles in the movie will be played by actors like Salimkumar, Jagathy, Suraj, Anoop Chandran, Siddhique and Sukumari.
The movie has taken inspiration from the recent sports based Tamil films like 'Chennai 6000028' and 'Vennila Kabbadi Kuzhu'. There will be 11 fresh heroes, four heroines and seven villains in this movie.
The star hunt for the movie is going on at Kochi, Calicut and Thiruvananthapuram to select apt faces for the film. The director Jijesh Vennala and his crew are conducting this hunt.
It is probably first time in Indian cinema that a film will feature total 11 fresh faces as the heroes of a movie. However, considering football to be theme of the film, it is quite obvious they will require 11 actors but all of them being fresh faces is an interesting fact of this project.
