Frank Coraci planning spectacular sci-fi romp

(Cover) - EN Movies - Frank Coraci is eager to "blow people away" with a sci-fi picture.

The 45-year-old moviemaker is best known for his work on comedies such as Click and The Wedding Singer. The talented director is currently promoting Zookeeper, which sees Kevin James as a keeper who discovers that animals can talk and features several real life creatures including lions and bears. Frank argues that the technological advancements he made while ensuring the fantastic elements of the movie were realistic have prepared him for a big-budget fantasy.

"After working two years on a huge visual effects movie like Zookeeper where the goal was to make seamless visual effects that nobody would notice, I believe I'm ready for a sci-fi with some of the coolest, in-your-face, visual effects that will blow people away," he told Cover Media.

Despite being eager to embrace his sci-fi ambitions, Frank concedes that comedy will always be at the heart of his career. The director likes to find comic moments in all that he does, so would always at least add a small element of laughter to his work.

"I think much of what I do will always have comedy in it. But I also am a big fan of sci-fi and graphic novels," he smiled.

Zookeeper hits UK cinemas on July 29 2011. (C) Cover Media
