George Michael denies love split

7th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - George Michael has slammed rumours he has split from his long-term partner.

This morning it was widely reported the stars partner Kenny Goss had ended their 15-year relationship. George spent time in prison last year after admitting possessing cannabis and driving under the influence of drink or drugs. Although the singer has been trying to get his life back on track and has taken time away from the spotlight, it was claimed things had got too much for Kenny who had called time of the romance.

George who has been in trouble with the law several times before - has taken to his Twitter claims to refute the claims, after he heard his relationship being discussed on a UK television show.

Would someone Tweet 5wrightstuff and tell them the Sun is lying through its teeth as usual, he wrote. They r trying to overshadow my apologies I presume...

George was referring to an interview aired on a British radio station this morning, in which he apologised for being sent to jail last year and admitted he felt he deserved to be incarcerated because of his actions. He is also promoting his cover of the New Order hit True Faith for British charity Comic Relief, and is annoyed attention has been taken away from the good cause.

The star was so incensed he phoned The Wright Stuff to discuss the allegations.

Its totally untrue. Its just a desperate attempt to overshadow the fact that I finally got the chance to say sorry to everybody. The BBC leaked some stuff about the interview I did with [DJ] Chris Evans on Friday, which is for Comic Relief. There was some talk about an interview before Christmas about my time in prison but I decided I didnt really want to do that. I didnt want to exploit the situation because I took it very seriously, he explained.

So yesterday when I saw these things that the BBC put out where I basically said sorry and realised I deserved everything that happened and felt I had a karmic bill to pay I think they thought I was getting good press so they came up with this. This morning I was hoping that I going to get nice publicity for Comic Relief and also a chance to say sorry before I put music out again, and I get that Kennys walked out on me which is complete bulls**t... sorry!

Kenny and I had had out problems but I love him very much, hes never objected to my lifestyle and hes never once walked out on me. (C) Cover Media
