(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow didnt like shooting violent scenes in Country Strong at all.
Gwyneth portrays fallen country star Kelly Canter in the drama, alongside actors such as Tim McGraw, Garrett Hedlund and Leighton Meester.
The character is a rather volatile one, and in a particularly gritty scene she throws a punch at James Canter, played by Tim McGraw.
Apparently the fake punches werent looking realistic enough, so eventually Gwyneth was required to hit out at Tim for real, which she intensely disliked.
"I'd never hit anyone in my life, and I didn't like it at all," she confessed.
The films director Shana Feste was pleased with the result, although she did feel sorry for Gwyneth when she saw how moved the actress was. Tim had been helping to encourage Gwyneth to hit him, but that didnt remedy the situation.
"Tim started being very combative with her and egging her on," explained Shana to the Los Angeles Times. "She ended up whacking him and she started crying afterward."
Gwyneth loved the challenge of both acting and singing in Country Strong, and has been exploring her singing talents a great deal this year. The movie star recorded a cameo appearance in musical television drama Glee and in November she performed at the Country Music Association Awards in Nashville to promote Country Strong. For the actress, its important to always push herself further in her career and attempt new things, even if that can be nerve-wracking.
"I'm good at acting, but I may be more inclined to do something that I'm less good at and more interested in," she added.
"The most dangerous thing is buying into the idea of what you're supposed to be, the projection of what people think you are. If I've done the best I can do and my intentions are super clear, then it's really not my business what anybody thinks of me." (C) Cover Media
