(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Gwyneth Paltrow says Nirvana blew her mind.
The Hollywood star has been showcasing her vocal talents of late. She has performed musical numbers including Cee Lo Greens Forget You for hit television series Glee, as well as performing with the singer himself at this years Grammy Awards.
The beautys musical tastes are eclectic to say the least. Aside from professing her love for hip-hop, Gwyneth says she was a fan of alternative records as a youngster and counts Nirvanas Nevermind album as one of the best shes ever heard.
I was never super into 80s or 90s pop. Aside from hip-hop I loved, I was very into alternative stuff like New Order (which did become pretty mainstream) and The Cure and bands like Yaz and Book of Love. But when Nirvana came out, my mind was kind of blown. I remember sitting around a record player playing Nevermind for days in a row with my college friends really mesmerised by that record, as everyone was at the time. I couldnt believe my ears.
Gwyneth made the comment while being interviewed by Jay-Z for his new website Life + Times. The musician is using the site to draw attention to new developments in art, design, music, sport and leisure.
The 38-year-old actress a huge lover of the hip-hop genre, with her interest in the music developing in her college years.
I first was exposed to hip-hop when I was about 16 by some boys who went to collegiate. The Beastie Boys were sort of the way in for us preppie kids. We were into Public Enemy, Run-DMC and LL Cool J. But then I went to LA the summer between my junior and senior year of high school and I discovered N.W.A which became my obsession, she explained. (C) Cover Media
