Howard Stern says he would be a "no nonsense" judge on America's Got Talent.
The radio personality today addressed the rumours that he may be joining the panel on the television series.
Howard's name has been mentioned as a possible replacement for Piers Morgan, who announced that he had quit last week.
The TV show needs a third personality to join Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel.
"I love the show, everyone knows I love America's Got Talent. I think it's the greatest. And I would be certainly honoured to sit with Howie and Sharon and judge these lunatics," he laughed on his radio show. "And let me tell you something if I was a judge on America's got talent there would be no nonsense."
Howard revealed that he would be a very strict judge.
He was not impressed with last year's winner, singer Landau Eugene Murphy Jr.
"If I had been on it, the guy who won last year, whose name I can't even remember, he would never have won," he declared. "When it comes to talent and running a business I've been doing it for 35 years now, I'm probably the most successful radio guy, in entertainment I'm a phenomenon. I take showbusiness very seriously. If I was a judge on there it would be no nonsense whatsoever. I would be there for the talent. I would be there to actually find somebody good."
Despite his strong words Howard's lips remained sealed on whether he had been approached as the next judge.
The 57-year-old insisted a deal had not been signed.
"But here's the point, I'm always mentioned as I'm going to be the next judge," he explained. "I am not the next judge. I have no deal with America's Got Talent. I'm not going to comment on whether I'm in negotiations, because I don't comment on negotiations."
