I don't think CCL needs a smaller star like me: SRK

25th February 2013

One of Bollywoods most talked about events, the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) has finally started with season 3. While most of the stars from the South and Bollywood come together to enjoy a game of cricket, superstar Shah Rukh Khan says he has no time to indulge with collegues from the same fraternity.

Already owner of an IPL team, SRK states that he is too small a star to play with his collegues from the film industry. He also said that he'd rather launch the Toyota University Cricket Championship (TUCC).

"I personally won't get any time to play cricket so I don't think I will be attached to anything else but if it requires me. I think there are so many stars in CCL. I don't think they need a smaller star like me," he said while attending the TUCC opening ceremony (View Gallery).

TUCC is an initiative taken to promote cricket among youngsters. Since sports is the greatest profession, what better way than to promote it at the university level.

Apparently, it is heard that Salman Khan might join CCL next year. He has always been there to support his brother Sohail Khan's team Mumbai Heroes, but next year he plans to be a part of it on the field.

No wonder SRK is keeping a distance from the CCL, as the arch rivals would definitely not want to see each other, let alone play a friendly game.
