Imran follows Aamir's footsteps

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's aggressive promotions for his films have caught the media's attention for the past few years. But not many know that he has always been enthusiastic in promoting his films since the very beginning. And this was recently revealed by his nephew Imran Khan.

The younger Khan is currently promoting his forthcoming film 'Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola' for which he has taken cues from Aamir Khan's old tricks. He has been sticking the posters of the film on Mumbai's taxis and he claims that the idea stems from Aamir who did the same twenty four years back.

"24 years ago Aamir uncle pasted the posters of his film Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak. He once told me that how he and my mother were roaming around the by-lanes of Bandra and seeking the permission of rickshaw drivers to paste the posters of his film," said Imran. If one can remember the same was done during the promotions of '3 Idiots' too. The posters of the film graced the auto rickshaw all over Mumbai.

Imran takes pride in copying his style as he states that it is the easiest and the most effective way of reaching to the masses. "24 years down the line I am doing the same thing that was once done by my uncle Aamir. In our city public transport is the most important thing whether it is rickshaws, taxis or buses; it has always been the lifeline of the city. I think it is the easiest way to communicate and reach out to the people," he added.

Hopefully his efforts will bear fruits when the film finally releases on January 11, 2013.
