Jacqueline raises 4000 pounds for a charity

Actress Jacqueline Fernandez who has recently made a special place for herself in Bollywood with films like 'Murder 2', 'Housefull 2' and 'Race 2', was seen at the Pratham Charity Fundraiser in Mayfair, London.

Pratham UK is associated with a cause that Jacqueline strongly believes in. This charity group works towards enlightening all of India by burning the literacy lamp in each and every corner of the country. It has reached 500,000 children in 43 cities and 33 million children in 305,000 villages through their wide range of programmes.

From giving basic primary education to nursery children to imparting secondary and vocational skills to them, this NGO works in all spheres.

Talking about how the actress became a part of this fundraiser she expresses, "I have a friend who is part of the Pratham group. Pratham is also very well-known in India. My friend knew that it's a cause I am quite interested in and passionate about. I think education is something every child in the world has the right to. That is how my friend got me involved in the fundraiser in London and so I am here."

Further talking about her role in the event she adds, "I wanted to make a contribution apart from just attending the event, so I decided to auction a breakfast which helped me raise 4000 pounds for the noble cause."
