(Cover) - EN Showbiz - James Cameron wants to bring the cast of the Avatar sequels to the Amazon Rainforest, so they can be inspired by the indigenous tribes.

The legendary director is planning to film two sequels later this year, following the extraordinary success of the original film, released in 2009. The original story told the tale of a fictitious tribe on a fictitious planet, who are forced to fight for their existence following an aggressive mining project embarked on by humans.

The 56-year-old believes his actors would be well served meeting similar tribesmen in Brazil, who have had to contend with similar issues in the past.

"Avatar is a film about the rainforest and its indigenous people. Before I start to shoot the two films I want to bring my actors here, so I can better tell this story. Actors could learn about the natives and what real life in the jungle is like," he told Hollywood Reporter.

The Canadian recently visited Brazil, meeting the Caiapo tribe whilst there. He credits this encounter as pivotal for the direction of his follow up movies, revealing he now had a greater understanding of their predicament.

"If I had met the Caiapos before making Avatar, I would certainly have made a better film," he ruefully added. (C) Cover Media
