(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jason Bateman's wife made him start behaving like a "decent human being".

The Hollywood actor led a wild lifestyle throughout the 90s and he struggled with drug use. He married Amanda Anka in 2001, and they have daughter Francesca together. They are currently expecting a second daughter.

Jason owes his straight living to his family.

"Meeting my wife Amanda was the best thing that could have happened to me. She wasn't going to let me screw around with my life anymore, so I stopped drinking and started behaving like a decent human being," he told the UK edition of OK! magazine.

Jason rose to prominence in the early 2000s playing Michael Bluth on Arrested Development, for which he won a TV Land prize, a Golden Globe and two Satellite Awards.

Jason believes the series also kept him on the straight and narrow.

"Then I got very, very lucky when Arrested Development came along. That series saved my career it gave me back the credibility I used to have when I was much younger and before people gave up on me as a party guy in Hollywood," he explained.
