Jason Derlo has denied rumours he is engaged to Jordin Sparks, insisting he hasn't bought her a ring.

The stars sparked wedding speculation recently after Jordin posted a photo of her showing off what appeared to be an engagement ring on her Twitter account. In the picture, Jordin happily posed with Jason and sported an impressive diamond band.

However, Jason has now addressed the reports, revealing he didn't splash out on the expensive piece of jewellery.

"We're not engaged. It's just a nice ring," he told Life & Style on Wednesday evening. "I didn't [buy it for her]... Everybody is ready to say that as soon as something like that happens."

Although Jason hasn't proposed just yet, he is smitten with the 22-year-old singer.

The star has previously confessed they often serenade each other at home.

Jason feels lucky to be dating someone who understands him so well.

"It's awesome to have someone you can talk to, and she's a wonderful person," he's said.

Jason, also 22, finally confirmed his romance with Jordin in January after the pair were first seen together in September last year.

Jordin recently confessed that the singer-songwriter "swept me off my feet".
