(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jay-Z was the "doting" father-to-be to pregnant wife Beyonc Knowles over the weekend.

The rapper was reportedly very attentive to the singer who announced she was expecting their first baby at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.

An eye-witness told Us Weekly that backstage Jay-Z could not do enough for his expectant partner.

"Jay was doting on her the whole time," the source said. "He was really taking care of her, asking her how she feels and helping her walk. It was so sweet to see him like that."

And the romance is definitely still burning brightly for the couple who have been together for nine years but married for three.

"He yelled, Mmm hmmm, Who's that sexy lady walking down here?' playing like he was flirting with her. It was so cute," the insider revealed.

Beyonc's mother Tina Knowles was also on hand as she looks forward to welcoming her second grandchild.

"She was on top of everything getting Beyonc everything she needed. Between Jay and her mom, she was totally taken care of," the source added.

Cameras had panned to Jay-Z and his Watch The Throne collaborator Kanye West when Beyonc showed off her burgeoning belly at the end of her performance, and Kanye looked ecstatic at his friends' happy news.

"Kanye looked the proud uncle," the witness added while Beyonc's Telephone duet partner Lady Gaga reportedly made several visits to the singer's dressing room.

"She kept coming over to rub Beyonc's belly and say hello," the witness shared. "And the security guards thought she was a guy at first and wouldn't let her back! It was really funny." (C) Cover Media
