26th August 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jay-Z and Keith Richards are to give talks about their lives at a famous library in America.

The hip-hop mogul and the Rolling Stones guitarist will both appear at the New York Public Library later this year.

Keith is set to give a talk on October 29 from the library’s main branch on 5th avenue. He will be discussing chapters from his memoir, Life, which will be released that month.

It is believed the 66-year-old rocker will reveal how he developed a love for reading when he was growing up in London after World War II, before he became involved in music. Keith is reported to have an impressive collection of books at his homes in the UK and US and even considered undergoing training so he could manage his own personal libraries.

Jay-Z is scheduled to address an audience on November 15. The 40-year-old star will be promoting his new book, Decoded, which features interviews with the star and his loved ones. The tome also traces his teenage years as a drug dealer in New York up until he became a music superstar. Jay-Z has previously revealed he is interested in reading self-help books and tomes about religion and business.

Other stars who have given talks on their lives from the New York Public Library include David Byrne from Talking Heads and members of The Velvet Underground. (C) Cover Media
