Jennifer Hudson lands $1million book deal'

13th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Hudson has reportedly closed a $1million book deal for her weight loss memoir.

The singer-and-actress, who has been proudly showing off a slimmer figure, is set to write about her experiences on the diet regime that saw her drop 80 pounds.

The 29-year-old's management have battled out the seven figure deal with Penguin Group subsidiary Dutton, according to the New York Post.

While it is widely known that Jennifer slimmed down by following the popular Weight Watchers system, the singer will also reveal the reasons behind her initial weight gain and share how she avoids a potential diet relapse.

However, the mother-of-one will not talk about her tragic personal life.

In 2008, Jennifer's mother, sister and nephew were found dead having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

"The book will chronicle Hudson's experience growing up in an environment where healthy living was not a priority," the official statement by publisher Dutton reads. "She'll talk about her weight as she competed on American Idol and won her first Oscar, to her eventual decision to get healthy after the birth of her son, and her success losing weight with the help of Weight Watchers."

Jennifer is keen to inspire anyone coping with weight issues, share her best tips for losing weight and maintaining a slimmer figure, and give advice on how to create a fun exercise regime.

The book is expected to hit shelves in January 2012. (C) Cover Media
