A few Tamil organisations are upset with Jiiva's decision to take part in a New Year event in Switzerland, which is allegedly backed by an influential person in Sri Lankan politics.

But the actor claims he has no idea about this. 'The Tamil Sangam in Switzerland invited me to take part in their New Year function, since my good friends singer Krish and his wife Sangeetha will be felicitated during the event.'

He adds: 'I expressed my consent to be part of the function since I will be in Europe at that time. I don't know about the controversy behind the event and I now have to reconsider my decision. Please give me some time.'

In the meantime, since Jiiva's last release 'Vandhaan Vendraan' did not do well in the box office, the actor is putting extra efforts to make sure that his forthcoming films strike a chord with the audience. His immediate release will be Shankar directed 'Nanban', which also has Vijay and Srikanth in lead roles.
