(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Scarlett Johansson has transformed into a rocker for the new issue of W magazine.

The blonde Avengers star has ditched her sexy image for an entirely different look.

Twenty-seven-year-old Scarlett channels the 1990s with two-toned grey and red hair and a nose ring.

Asked of her least favourite trend from the decade, the starlet ranted about her distaste for turtleneck sweaters.

"They're horrible. I tried to get into them because they are so practical, but they're just so unfortunate,' she said.

The buttoned-up look also isn't big with the opposite sex, according to the star.

And she thinks her male admirers would agree.

"Men don't like turtlenecks. I've never met a man who likes anything around his neck other than my hands," she purred.

Scarlett features on one of four covers for the November issue of the fashion glossy.

Rooney Mara, Mia Wasikowska and Keira Knightley also make the 40th anniversary covers, paying tribute to the 1970s, 1980s and 2000s, respectively. (C) Cover Media
