Jon Hamm signs Mad Men deal

22nd June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jon Hamm has signed on for three more seasons of Mad Men, confirms a source.

The 40-year-old US actor is best known for portraying womanising ad executive Don Draper in the hit television series about the adventures of a 1960s advertising agency.

The show's future had appeared to be in jeopardy earlier this year, with season five being delayed amid reports the programme's creator, executive producer and head writer Matthew Weiner's salary demands wouldn't be met.

However, it was later announced seasons five and six will be going ahead, with Jon now set to star in a seventh season.

According to EW, sources have confirmed the actor has signed a deal with Lionsgate Television for three years.

Production still hasn't begun on season five of the hit programme, which is scheduled to air in March next year. It was revealed last month that Jon will be directing the opening episode.

"It's a very exciting challenge that I'm looking forward to with a mixture of utter fear and excitement," he said at the time. (C) Cover Media
