December 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark director Julie Taymor has decided to pull off from a chat show with Patrick Healy at the very last moment. The chat with the director and the theater reporter was scheduled to be staged on the 8th of January in the new year. The chat show was organized on a public platform by the New York Times and tickets for the event had also sold out. According to reports in the media, the events organizers are offering a refund of the sold tickets.
Though Julie Taymor was unavailable for comment, a representative for the director said in a statement to the media that Julie Taymor is presently very busy with the rehearsals of her musical Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark owing to the sudden change in the production schedule of the Broadway musical and therefore she will be available on any public platform for a while now!
This is not the first time that Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has hit headlines for the wrong reasons. There have been delays in staging the production on an earlier occasion and most importantly a number of accidents which occurred onstage during the first performance of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark forced critics to write the musical off. The production will open in the month of February next year.
