JWoww has reportedly been engaged "for a while" but is saving the proposal for her reality TV show.

The Jersey Shore star - real name Jennifer Farley - and long-term boyfriend Roger Mathews are reportedly planning to tie the knot.

However, they are waiting to advance with the nuptials as executives on Jersey Shore spin-off show Snooki & JWoww want the proposal to be captured on screen.

"[Farley] has been engaged [to Mathews] for a while," a source told the New York Daily News.

"Producers are making her save it for filming."

The second season of Snooki & JWoww started shooting last month.

Despite the secret proposal, sources have warned that the fiery pair are "always on and off."

JWoww and Roger have been together for two years and audiences have seen their tumultuous relationship blossom on screen.

When asked about getting engaged last month, JWoww responded: "I just want a big ring. That's all I care about - a big ring."

JWoww's co-star Snooki announced her engagement to Jionni LaValle earlier this year, with the pair recently welcoming their son Lorenzo Dominic into the world.
