Kate Beckinsale: I'm so into yoga

19th January 2012

Kate Beckinsale credits yoga with "keeping her in the game."

The Contraband beauty prefers to steer away from grueling cardio routines.

Kate prefers a more relaxed approach to fitness.

"Yoga, that's [all I do]," Kate told Extra. "I'm horrified I've become this person who's into yoga. I don't have Buddhas everywhere and all that stuff, but I find it keeps me in shape, and you get to lie down at the end for ten minutes, which is the key that keeps me in the game."

Keeping fit allows Kate to don clothes like the spectacular strapless Roberto Cavalli gown that she wore to this month's Golden Globe Awards.

Although her ensemble was gorgeous, Kate admits that it wasn't very comfortable.

"It's an outfit only good for standing up. When I sat down, I got poked by corset bones," Kate explained. "I was beaten up so much during [Contraband filming], [wearing the gown] feels like a nice reward for that."

Fashion is a great passion of Kate's. Linguistics takes a close second, as the multilingual star loves to explore new languages.

"I was fluent in Russian, but I haven't really practiced it, obviously, in the last decade," Kate shared. "I lived in Paris for a year, so that got very cemented, and then I learned German as well, and then I find I can understand and speak Italian, so I'm quite useful in Europe."

Kate's newest film Contraband is currently in American theatres.

Her new vampire movie Underworld: Awakening will be released in the US this weekend.
