(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Hudson's lavish baby shower was attended by Hollywood's elite at a private home in a gated community in Malibu on Sunday.

Hosted by Tobey Maguire's wife, Jen Mayer, and 90210 actress Sara Foster, Kate and her guests had a blast welcoming her second child into the world. Nicole Richie, Courteney Cox Arquette and Rachel Zoe were among the celebrity guests that appeared at the party.

Dressed formally, guests arrived at the front door which was festooned with ambiguous ribbons in pink, blue, and gold, carrying gifts that were wrapped in equally gender-neutral colors. It is clear that the child's gender is still very much a secret.

The traditional antics of a baby shower were still very much in play.

"It was a family-friendly party with kids of all ages running around," a source told Us Weekly. "Nicole Richie was there with her kids and they were having a great time playing outside.

"The best one was where people tried to guess what Kate and Matthew should name the baby. It was hilarious and got a lot of laughs out of everyone! It was such a fun party - and people stayed for hours."

Kate is expecting her second child with Matt Bellamy, lead vocalist and guitarist of the band Muse. She had her first son, Ryder, with The Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson in 2004. (C) Cover Media
