The Hollywood star met the Muse frontman at a music festival last year and since then they have been inseparable. They are expecting a baby together later this year, and Kate has now discussed what drew her to the rocker.
She wasnt immediately sure whether she wanted a serious relationship with Matt, but when she got to know him she realised he was exactly what she was looking for in a man.
You always hear people say, 'I never thought this would be the person I would end up with,' but I don't think you ever really know. I love that Matthew knows how to express himself. He shows his love. He communicates, she told the May issue of InStyle.
Matthew was polite and immediately protective, which for somebody like me who's all over the place one minute I'm over here and the next I'm over there is important. He is just an amazing person.
Kate and Matthew were introduced by a friend at the Coachella music festival in California, and then remembered theyd met previously. They began chatting and when Kate suddenly realised shed lost her friends Matt stepped in to reassure her.
He just looked at me and said, 'Come on, I'll take care of you.' That's when I went, 'Wait a minute, who are you? she explained.
Kate, 32, admits she wasnt looking for a long-term relationship when she met Matt, but after spending time with him she realised they were well suited. The couple would go on dates which lasted all day and never ran out of things to say to each other.
The pair are now thrilled to be having a baby together, which will be a sibling for Kates seven-year-old son Ryder. Although the pregnancy happened early in their relationship, Kate and Matt feel ready for the new arrival.
