Kate Hudson thrills with petty Glee role

7th August 2012

Kate Hudson's character in Glee is "mean and petty".

The latest season sees Kate and Sarah Jessica Parker join the show. Kate is playing a New York dance instructor and will teach musical theatre wannabe Rachel Berry, portrayed by Lea Michele.

Jane Lynch has revealed fans are in for a treat when the two characters clash.

"I hear she's doing just great and I read the scripts and they're hilarious," Jane told E! at the Comedy Central Roast of Roseanne Barr in Hollywood. "She's mean and petty and yet there's a heart there too. She's really good.

"She gives Rachel a really hard time."

Jane is close friends with comic star Roseanne and would love to see her appear on Glee. Roseanne appears to share Jane's enthusiasm.

"I'm ready to become a lesbian to get on there!" she quipped.

Last season, Jane's character Sue Sylvester was pregnant. Season four will show the cheerleading coach coping with the perils of motherhood.

"Momentarily I'm nice. I've just given birth to a beautiful baby girl who has Down syndrome and her name is Robin," Jane explained. "Which to say harkens thoughts of spring and new beginnings and her favourite Bee Gee."
