(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katherine Heigl "popped" a lot of breath mints before her kissing scene with Jon Bon Jovi.

The actress and rock star appear alongside each other in upcoming movie New Year's Eve. They portray ex-partners who meet up again and find they are still attracted to each other.

"Yes, I made out with him!" Katherine giggled. "It's always so nerve-wracking. There's all the giggles and there's all the Altoid popping."

Katherine called Jon a "gem" and one of the kindest and easiest to work with people she's ever met.

The actress is married to musician Josh Kelley and previously admitted she tried her best to use as much music lingo as possible with Jon so he thought she knew about his job.

Katherine even asked him whether he has a rider when on tour, which she's pretty sure impressed him.

New Year's Eve has a star-studded cast including Ashton Kutcher, Robert De Niro, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Jessica Biel and many others.

Michelle Pfeiffer is also involved.

The role saw her romance 24-year-old Zac Efron's character, which she found hilarious because of the age gap.

"We have a very unusual relationship. We're sort of an odd couple," the 53-year-old actress explained to E! Online. "He only really hangs out with me in the beginning, because I bribe him with super-fabulous party tickets for New Year's Eve, but then I think he grows a little fond of." (C) Cover Media
