Katie stars as US President John F. Kennedy's wife Jacqueline Kennedy in new History Channel production The Kennedys. The 31-year-old actress and Suri, her daughter with husband Tom Cruise, have been away filming the series for several weeks, and Katie has enjoyed every second of it.

To keep Suri entertained, Katie organises several "play dates" every day, where she spends quality time with her daughter doing things the tot enjoys, like playing with her character's many wigs.

"It's been so much fun, and the hair and make-up people are great - they have really done a lot to transform all of us," Katie told ET Online. "Suri is always with me [on set] and so we do play dates and she helps brush out the wigs."

The Kennedys will premiere on American TV in 2011. Katie stars opposite Greg Kinnear, who plays John F. Kennedy, Barry Pepper, who plays his brother Robert F. Kennedy and Tom Wilkinson, who portrays the famous family's patriarch Joe Kennedy Sr.

Katie was thrilled to work with all three actors, and says she considers it an ?honour? to play such an iconic role.

"I've just really enjoyed working with Greg Kinnear and Barry Pepper and Tom Wilkinson," she said. "It's just been wonderful, and just, it's an honour to play [Jackie], and she is an amazing lady. And so I just, I've been having a great time." (C) Cover Media
