Katy Perry could replace Kelly Rowland on the UK version of The X Factor.
Former Destiny's Child star Kelly joined the judging panel of the talent show last season. However, there have been reports that she had felt homesick after spending so much time in England and that she had failed to connect with audiences.
Auditions for the new series of the programme are due to begin in two weeks and sources claim it is "95 per cent unlikely" that Kelly will be returning.
Pop star Katy proved a hit when she appeared as a guest judge on The X Factor, although she can't commit to the show full-time there is speculation she will be involved in some way.
"Kelly was great in the auditions, but when she joined the live shows it just seemed that she didn't really relax and enjoy herself," a source told British newspaper Daily Mail. "And to be honest, she wasn't that popular with viewers. Hopefully, Katy Perry will have some kind of role on the series."
Katy was a guest on the judging panel in 2010. One of the hopefuls to audition for her was Niall Horan, who went on to join the successful boy band One Direction.
It has been claimed that Simon Cowell and TV bosses are in talks with Katy as well as a series of other stars.
Take That star Gary Barlow has confirmed he will be returning as a judge for the new season.
