(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kellan Lutz says he was bullied as a child because of his big ears.

The Twilight heartthrob is adored by young girls around the world now, but admits to not always being the most popular kid in school and used to be called Dumbo.

He told E! Online that he is a supporter of the Be a Star anti-bullying campaign because he knows how it feels to be picked on.

"I was bullied. I was called Dumbo growing up when I was younger. I had big ears," Kellan revealed.

But he says that he holds no resentment towards his bullies and takes comfort in knowing how his life turned out as a Hollywood movie star.

"I see them!" Kellan says of his tormentors. "I go back home and, honestly, I'm not going to be mean, but I get the last laugh."

Kellan is best known for his role as Emmett Cullen in the hit vampire movie franchise.

He acknowledges that along with his celebrity comes another kind of torment but he says he is taking it in his stride.

"It's a business," Kellan says of the paparazzi and media interest. "So if paparazzi are going to start dissing you or calling you names, just don't respond. And that's the biggest thing that I've learned."

"People are gonna get bored. If they're poking at you verbally or physically and you don't give them a reaction out of it, they're gonna get bored, they really are."

Kellan is starring in upcoming movie Immortals where he stars at Poseidon, god of the sea, in the 3D action-adventure fantasy film. (C) Cover Media
