Kelsey Grammer's wife is expecting twins.

The 56-year-old actor has announced that his spouse Kayte Walse is pregnant with two babies.

People magazine reports that Kayte is currently in her second trimester.

Kelsey can't wait to greet his new children later on this year.

"I'm really looking forward to meeting these new arrivals," Kelsey told the magazine at the Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills last night. "Fatherhood's always different based upon the character that comes into your life. They arrive and tell you what you have to do."

Kelsey believes that Kayte will be an excellent mother.

"Kayte is extraordinary," Kelsey gushed. "She's one of the most loving, amazing, warm human beings I've ever met. She's funny and serious all at the same time. She's an amazing person and I think she'll blow [the kids] away."

The couple married in February 2011, the same month that Kelsey and his ex-wife Camille Grammer had their contentious divorce finalised.

The 32-year-old former air stewardess and Kelsey began dating shortly after he and Camille officially separated in summer 2010.

Kelsey has two children with Camille, ten-year-old daughter Mason Olivia and seven-year-old son Jude.

Kelsey has daughters Spencer Grammer, 28, and Greer Kandace Grammer, 20, from other relationships.
