(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kris Humphries has admitted that he is still in love with his wife.
The basketball star says he is "devastated" that Kim Kardashian has filed for divorce and he wants to do everything he can to save their relationship.
He has spoken out to TMZ for the first time since his wife of 72 days officially filed papers to end their union in a Los Angeles Court this morning.
"I love my wife and am devastated to learn she filed for divorce," Kris said. "I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it work."
He added that he walked down the aisle believing it would last forever.
"I'm committed to this marriage and everything this covenant represents," the basketball star added.
The 6' 9'' athlete was pictured in his home town of Lake Minnewashta, Minnesota today still wearing his wedding ring.
Kris went to his local gym and eyewitnesses said that there was "no tension whatsoever in his body language or face."
"He just looked completely relaxed. He was still wearing his ring, smiling and going about his business," the insider said.
Meanwhile Kim's sister Khlo, 27, who was never a big fan of Kris, took to her Twitter page to defend the announcement after there was a backlash over the short-lived marriage.
The Kardashian family have been receiving negative comments online on how the 31-year-old could have ended her marriage so soon after such a lavish $10 million wedding back in August.
"Reading some of these comments are so hurtful," Khlo wrote. "I'm grateful for our fans who understand are being respectful. Hate is disgusting. Love is everything."
"Thank God for family. We are strong and we will only become closer! I love you."
Kim's eldest sibling Kourtney also chimed in thanking everyone for their "kindness and support."
"Our sister is going through a difficult time but we're a close family and are sticking together like always,' she wrote on her Twitter page.
Kim said that it was "not an easy decision" to file for divorce and that she thought her "marriage was forever."
