20th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kristen Stewart was dying to be given the opportunity to play a stripper in her new film.

The Twilight actress has taken on the more risqu role for Welcome to the Rileys, in which she plays a teenage runaway called Mallory who befriends a grieving older man.

And the 20-year-old revealed she thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to become a pole dancer even though it wasnt all plain sailing.

I was dying to do this part for a really long time, she told E! News. It was not the easiest character to play. It took a while to get made.

Kristen who is dating her Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson believes it is lucky that she has such a mature personality. She insists the role of Mallory could have been too overwhelming for other stars her age.

I think its a good thing I grew up a little bit, because I wasnt scared. It was an intimidating part to take on, she explained.

Meanwhile, film veteran Jodie Foster says she is surprised that Kristen made it as an actress.

The pair starred alongside each other in 2002 thriller Panic Room, but Jodie thought the younger star didnt have conventional traits required to succeed in Hollywood.

Shes a great person, and Im not surprised she has gone on to do great things, Jodie told E! "But I am surprised she is an actress.

"I didn't think that's where she was headed. And even though her mom said, 'No, she really, really wants to be an actress,' I felt like, nah, she won't because she really doesn't have the stereotypical personality." (C) Cover Media
