(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Shia LaBeouf and Josh Duhamel convinced the director to let them perform dangerous stunts for Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
The pair have reprised their roles as Sam Witwicky and Major William Lennox for the third instalment of the sci-fi franchise and were keen to get involved with some of the action scenes. Although director Michael Bay was worried about the risk of injury, Josh admits he and Shia put pressure on the filmmaker until he caved in to their demands.
"A lot of the times they don't let us do stuff like that, but Shia and I both teamed up on Michael to let us do this one stunt," Josh told MTV News. "It was pretty nuts. They tied us on to these latches and they yank you 50 feet up in the air and they yank you back up, but it turned out to be really fun and this is the reason why I love these movies, 'cause you get to do stuff you don't get to do otherwise."
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley is a new addition to the cast and the British model showed no fear when it came to getting stuck into her role as Carly Miller. Even though this was her first big screen outing, the beauty completed a host of dangerous sequences and managed to impress Michael with her daredevil attitude.
"I loved doing the stunts, [Michael] really respected a girl that could get her hands dirty," Rosie explained. "Everything was a first for me, so it was super exhilarating and exciting... And we had a lot of fun filming. Every day was a crazy day on set and I think maybe half the time, I was in a harness or jumping through fire or I was running through gunfire or, like, hiding underneath something that was about to explode."
Patrick Dempsey is also a newcomer to the franchise and was equally as enthusiastic about the stunt scenes he was involved with. "I had some sequences; a lot of explosions," he smiled. (C) Cover Media
