(Cover) - EN Showbiz - LeAnn Rimes is engaged to Eddie Cibrian, it has been reported.

It is believed the actor asked LeAnn to marry him recently and the singer accepted his proposal, according to E! News. The pair fell in love when they starred in TV movie Northern Lights last year. Their romance sparked a great deal of controversy as LeAnn was still married to Dean Sheremet, while Eddie was married to Brandi Glanville the mother of his two children.

Over the Halloween weekend, the couple sparked engagement rumours after Eddie posted a picture on his Twitter account of him on bended knee standing in front of a surprised looking LeAnn. I couldnt resist, he Tweeted.

However, the following day LeAnn insisted the photograph had been a hoax.

"Ok, it was a 'TRICK-or-treat right!" she wrote on her Twitter page. "@eddiecibrian and I were having a little fun "@eddiecibrian is WAY more romantic than to proper [sic] to me in front of a 'lunatic' sign. Just thought it was too funny not to share a little 'TRICK!'"

Marriage rumours were fuelled again this week when Brandi revealed she wanted to meet with 28-year-old LeAnn "to sit down and talk" for the sake of her children with Eddie.

Earlier this week, LeAnn admitted she was devastated by the criticism she received over the affair, but insists she is glad to have 37-year-old Eddie in her life.

"What happened is not who I am, period," LeAnn explained in a television interview. "But I do know how much I love [Eddie]. So I've always said I don't live my life with regret. I can't."

A representative for LeAnn has not commented in the wake of the latest engagement rumours. (C) Cover Media
