The American actress is famed for playing Blair Waldorf in hit CW drama series Gossip Girl, where she wears a series of stunning designer outfits.

Despite her pricey wardrobe on television, Leighton prefers to save a little when she shops for her everyday wear.

"The last time I popped out my credit card I bought [a] Proenza Schouler dress," she told People. "I love sample sales! Proenza always has the good ones, and is one of my favourite designers. Most of the Proenzas in my closet are from sample sales."

Leighton also likes to save money when it comes to her interior design. The stunning star, 25, enjoys getting her hands dirty when it comes to decorating her own home.

"I'm buying tons of magazines, too, like Elle Decor, and I'm addicted to them now," she admitted. "Even though one day I will be done decorating, I'm still going to be buying them because I love looking at them." (C) Cover Media
