(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Leona Lewis is "so excited" about her new single, which sees her embracing an edgier music style.
The 26-year-old British songstress shot to international fame after winning the third season of the UK edition of The X Factor.
She has gone on to enjoy success with her unique brand of soulful pop, although is now offering fans something altogether different.
Her new single Collide will be played on Britain's BBC Radio One later today, and yesterday the star took to her Twitter account to express her joy.
"So excited to let u know to tune into Scott Mills show on Radio One tomorrow for the worldwide exclusive play of my summer single Collide (sic)," enthused Leona.
The record is scheduled for release in September, and will see her embrace dance music. It has already been played on the hedonistic island of Ibiza and gone down a storm. Leona, who split from long-term boyfriend Lou Al-Chamaa last year, says her upcoming album will reflect the developments in her life.
"The past two years, I have had a lot of situations thrown at me," she is quoted as saying. "It has made me realise I am much stronger than I thought I was."
The talented songstress finds making music is the ideal way to cope with the stresses life throws at her. She feels proud of her work, and can't wait to hear the reaction.
"I've been through a lot of changes and making this new album has been really therapeutic," she added. "I am so focused and ready to share my music." (C) Cover Media
