(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Leonardo DiCaprio was a surprise guest at Penlope Cruzs baby shower.

The stunning Spanish actress is expecting her first child with her husband Javier Bardem. The couple confirmed they were to become parents in September, after Penlope was spotted with a visible baby bump while she was shooting Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in the West Indies.

The 36-year-old is expected to give birth in the next few weeks, and her pals organised a baby shower on Saturday in anticipation of the new arrival. The event was held at the star couples Hollywood mansion, and Penlope was thrilled with Leonardo and his girlfriend Bar Refaeli turned up.

Leo wanted to show up to surprise her, a source told the New York Post.

Leonardo and Penlope are known to be good friends, and are regularly seen deep in conversation at industry events. The actor is also thought to be close to Javier, 41.

Penlope and her spouse have since travelled to Palm Springs for a relaxing short break ahead of the birth. (C) Cover Media
