(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan has reportedly told pals appearing in a remake of horror film Carrie "would be epic".

The 24-year-old Hollywood actress was linked to a remake of the classic 1976 movie based on the novel by Stephen King after the writer pondered casting Lindsay during an interview with EW.

The acclaimed US author was quoted by the publication as saying "Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White, hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast", and apparently Lindsay was overjoyed at hearing her name mentioned.

Sources close to the star have told website TMZ that the actress was "stoked" to hear 63-year-old Stephen discussing her, and thinks collaborating with him "would be epic".

The original Carrie starred Sissy Spacek in the title role, and told the story of a bullied girl who has special telekinetic powers. Recent reports have claimed MGM and Screen Gems are teaming up to make a new adaptation of the book, although little has been confirmed yet. Lindsay is said to be a huge fan of prolific writer Stephen, and is also reportedly eager to appear in the film adaptation of his The Dark Tower series, which is slated for release in 2013 and will star Javier Bardem.
