(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan's father Michael Lohan will no longer face prosecution for domestic violence charges.
The 51-year-old was arrested in March after an argument between him and then-girlfriend Kate Major turned nasty.
He was subsequently charged with one count of misdemeanour corporal injury to a cohabitant after several others were dropped.
But the L.A. District Attorney's Office has now put a halt on the proceedings because they could not reach Kate, and without her co-operation there is no case, reports TMZ.
Michael's lawyer said his client was happy the matter had now been sorted out and that Kate had wanted the case resolved quietly.
"We are pleased to report that a Lohan finally won a criminal case. Kate did not want a spectacle. She wanted this privately resolved and we are pleased this happened," Dana Cole said at a press conference.
Michael had accused Kate of faking her injuries and alleged she had been the one to attack him. He would have faced a year in county jail if convicted.
His daughter Lindsay recently completed 35 days under house arrest stemming from her conviction for stealing a $2,500 necklace from a jewellery store in Venice, California, back in January. (C) Cover Media
