Maharashtra govt approaches Aamir

12th September 2012

One of the highly praised episodes of Aamir Khan's renowned reality show 'Satyamev Jayate' talked about various kinds of addictions that has ruined the lives of many.

The show did not only talk about the deemed fortunes of the addictives, but also gauged the possibilities of a brighter future by stepping towards de-addiction. And this has made our state's ruling body aka Maharashtra Government approach Aamir Khan to be a part of their de-addiction campaign.

They have already sent him the proposal to which he is yet to respond, but the authorities are hopeful that the Bollywood star would certainly love to be a part of this philanthropist campaign.

Shivajirao Moghe, Maharashtra's Minister for Social Justice, revealed that they have organized a literary fest to commence their campaign.

"The first-ever literary meet with an anti-addiction theme will be organized on October 2 at Pune. Literary figures, artistes and organizations working in the field will be invited. Thousands of families are ruined because of liquor addiction, but during the few years, there has been no great literary work, or movie or play on the subject. I believe more that a play, a work of art or literature can motivate people to give up addiction, more than the law," he said.
