Pakistani TV show Humsafar's lead, Mahira Khan will star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Rahul Dholakia's 'Raees'.

Mahira will be seen playing SRK's better half on screen. Producer of the film Ritesh Sidhwani took to twitter to confirm the news.

He wrote, "Our leading lady in #Raees @themahirakhan @iamsrk @rahuldholakia @FarOutAkhtar."

The makers wanted an international face for the film and thus zeroed down on her for the lead. Mahira had met the makers during her last visit to India. 

She had already made her Bollywood debut in 2011 with the social drama 'Bol'.If everything goes well, the film will go on floor in February 2015.
