(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew McConaughey is continually amazed when his kids pull a McConaughey on him, as he thinks theyre too young for such shenanigans.

The actor has two-year-old son Levi and 14-month-old daughter Vida with his partner Camila Alves. He loves being a father, and his kids are a constant source of amusement to him. He is adamant they are much more advanced than he was at their age, and says they are already pulling sneaky tricks to try to get their own way.

Children remind you something about yourself everyday that maybe you forgot or maybe you know, but you didnt think you were doing that till you were like 20 and theyre doing it when theyre like, two, he laughed to Access Hollywood. And youre going, Wait a minute youre pulling something on me? You just pulled a McConaughey! You just pulled a Matthew! But I didnt know how to do that till I was 18 and youre two-and-a-half and youre doing it? Oh. Maybe I was doing it long before I thought I was.

Matthew thinks many people can be too strict with their children, and has vowed to let his tots find their own path. He plans to be open with them about his own opinions, but doesnt want to force them into a way of life they dont want.

Take advantage of the fact that you have that amount of experience over those children and guide them that way. At the same time, hold on loosely enough to let them become their own thing, he said.
