25th July 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matthew Perry says the success of Friends was down to a "magical" chemistry between the cast.

The actor is famed for his role as Chandler Bing on the popular NBC sitcom. Friends also starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc and David Schwimmer.

Matthew is starring in new comedy Go On and hopes he can re-create the success of the Emmy Award-winning show.

"Friends, you know, it was just great chemistry It had great writing, it had great directing and it had really great acting, so a little bit of magic happened there and you never know when and how that's going to happen," he told Access Hollywood. "You just want to surround yourself with funny talent people, which we certainly have done here with this group.

"Couple of exceptions," he jokingly added to laughs from the crowd.

In Go On, Matthew plays Ryan, a sports radio host who is forced to undergo group counselling after the death of his wife. The series will feature cameos from famous athletes, and the 42-year-old has admitted to campaigning for guest stars.

"Whenever I come across a famous athlete, I'm shameless, I'll just ask them to be on the show. To my face, they've all said yes, so far," he smiled. (C) Cover Media
