Actress Meera Chopra aka Nila, a co-accused in the Ruchi Bhuttan suicide case, was questioned at the DLF-II police station a couple of days ago. Claiming that she had no role in the case she said the incident had adversely affected her film career.
Coming before the media for the first time since Bhuttan's death, Meera denied any link with the incident and said the police had no proof at all about her alleged role in the case. "I used to know Sumit (Ruchi's husband) eight years ago but I did not have any ongoing relationship with him," said Meera.
"My career is on a roller-coaster ride ever since my name was dragged into the case. I could not sign the contract for Ram Gopal Verma's next film 'Department' on August 10th, as that would have meant travelling overseas - which is not possible in the present situation," said Meera.
The deceased, Ruchi Bhuttan, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her posh DLF City house. While Ruchi's in-laws claimed it was suicide, her relatives suspected foul play and blamed her husband Sumit Bhuttan. Apparently, Sumit was having an extra marital relationship with Meera Chopra.
