In the recent past Aditya Chopra opened up about his cine journey in a soul-stirring letter. While he broke all the stereotypes while making the film 'Befikre,' he not only broke his boundaries of making films with a typical subject of romance but he also made a quirky choice of his lead hero. Earlier the only actors from the B-town who worked with Aditya Chopra were Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. 

Aditya Chopra pens his thoughts about choosing Ranveer Singh as Dharam in another letter. In this letter Adi wrote that Ranveer was the film's main lead even before he was the director of the film. He cannot imagine Dharam in anyone else than Ranveer. Dharam is carefree, he is bold, he makes everyone around him happy because he remains happy all the time. And so is Ranveer. He related so much to the character that Aditya wrote the script of the film only for Ranveer.

Aditya also writes about his experience of working with SRK for all the past years. SRK makes everything so simple that you don't have to do much of the work. And Ranveer shares an uncanny resemblance to SRK. His energy, his brilliance reminded Adi of SRK and his decision of choosing Ranveer was right. "I would not have made 'Befikre' if an actor called Ranveer Singh did not exist" he concludes.
