Melissa Gilbert says that she is finding it difficult to get her "mojo" back as a contestant on Dancing With The Stars.

The actress hit her head while dancing with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy on last week's show and was rushed to hospital.

She has written a blog on People.com where she talks of the scary experience and the challenges moving forward.

"I remember Maks trying to keep me from closing my eyes," she recalled. "I've never had a concussion before. It is not fun. I pray that it's something I never experience again."

The former Little House on the Prairie star was diagnosed with grade-one concussion with moderate whiplash but says she is a lot more apprehensive now about doing her moves.

"I must admit though," she wrote. "I'm having a hard time getting my sexy, dancer mojo back."

"I'm being a bit self-protective, a bit tentative and I'm finding it hard to just let go and have fun. So that is my goal this week to let go and have fun.

"Yes, I was hurt. Yes, it was scary but, that was then this is now It's time to believe again!"
