(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michelle Williams thinks films about relationships are the real action movies.

The 30-year-old actress has starred in many films exploring romance and its pitfalls, such as Brokeback Mountain and new film Blue Valentine which examines a married couples relationship over a number of years.

Michelle was overwhelmed when she first read the script, and admits shes always been more enticed by films about people than big Hollywood blockbusters.

It just knocked me down, she gushed. For me, relationships are the real action movies. Bombs are exploding every day and the kitchen is Ground Zero.

Ryan Gosling portrays Michelles characters husband in Blue Valentine, and the pair spent months in each others company to prepare for the role, carrying out everyday tasks. Michelle joked the stars did everything but sleep together, and feels spending so much time together helped their on-screen chemistry.

There have even been rumours of a romance between the pair, with Ryan famously praising Michelle for her beauty and acting skills by describing her as Bridget Bardot meets Clint Eastwood. The star appreciates comments on her good looks, although admits it was never her goal to be considered a beautiful movie star.

I never wanted to be beautiful because I got the idea early on that people dont take you seriously if they think youre just that, she told British newspaper The Daily Telegraph. (C) Cover Media
