Mohit Suri wants to bring back eternal love stories

12th February 2014
Filmmaker Mohit Suri wants to move out of the dark romance genre and bring back the eternal love stories on screen.

Director of films like 'Awarapan', 'Kalyug', and 'Murder 2' is looking forward to make more films like his last 'Aashiqui 2', that only revolves around love between two people.

Though his next starring Sidharth Malhotra and Shraddha Kapoor, is titled as 'The Villain', the film he claims is a love story at its core.

"Right now I'm only interested in love stories. Even 'The Villian' is essentially one, after this I will start work on 'Hamaari Adhuri Kahani' which Bhatt saab (Mahesh Bhatt) is scripting," said Mohit.

The latter is a love triangle which will be taken on floors in September-October and stars Emraan Hashmi, Vidya Balan and Rajkummar Rao in the lead.

Ask him about his inclination towards love stories and he says that he'll bring back the eternal love stories of the 60s and 70s.

In the age of commercial action-thriller and mindless comedies, hard core romantic films will come as a wind of fresh air.
